Carl’s practice is focused on patent prosecution, opinions, and due diligence in the electrical and mechanical fields. Carl works on all aspects of prosecution for U.S. patents, including preparing patent applications, amendments, reexaminations, reissues, appeal briefs, inter partes reviews, and other prosecution-related papers.  He also handles international patent applications under the Patent Cooperation Treaty and foreign patent applications.  His practice includes preparation of invalidity, patentability, and freedom-to-operate opinions, as well as counseling clients on prosecution strategy, design-around solutions, and patent licensing.  Carl has experience in intellectual property due diligence in support of business and investment deals.  He also has experience in conducting pre-litigation analyses and litigation-related briefs and filings.
